Outside the combats, the game is divided into a day/night cycle. Only a mystical orb can harm this target, and only one orb is on the field, making this something like a game of football played with swords and spells. Each battle, called a Rite, is essentially a 3v3 competition in which a team of characters take on a group of opponents in an attempt to destroy a pyre at the their end of the battlefield.
